Approaching the Throne

I come humbly before Thy Throne,
Knowing that through Christ my sin's did atone.
For without Your Son's sacrifice,
Nothing else will suffice.

I approach not in my own power,
But I approach in the needing hour.
For I need to seek Thy face daily,
And I have been away frequently.

My God and King knows my heart,
And He knew it from the very start.
He turned my eyes to His Throne,
And from there His Glory shown.

Lead from Thy Almighty Throne,
And help me to make Thy presence known.
For You are all powerful,
And You will make me useful.

Looking Forward

Life is going full speed ahead. I am looking forward to the weeks ahead. Until it is time to go I will help my wife and kids to make this transition into military life. It is quite a change for me, but it is change that I will take full responsibility for. I have heard the many reasons that people have joined the military, and I think some of the reasons that they join for are fool-hardy. The thing that I look forward to the most is the birth of my son. The trials and testing that I face during boot camp will be difficult, but I welcome all of these in order to prepare for the rest of my military career. I look forward to serving my Navy's combat team with honor, courage, and commitment.

I thank the Lord that He has given me guidance to do what I have to do in order to take care of my family. Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah.

Preparations

There are a lot of preparations going on right now. If not prepared for something; then anything could happen. I myself am preparing to go into the Navy, and that takes time, study, and physical fitness. I do not want to be one of those people that does nothing and hope that I make it through what I am about to endure. Some of these recruits are still set in their ways, and if they don't change them it will hurt a great deal more. I am thankful for God's timing in all of this, because without it I would be in a holding pattern wondering when I would land. I will do my best to prepare to the best of my ability for what is about to take place. There are a lot of people that look forward to this experience, but not until in the middle of it will they realize its importance. These next two months, I will buckle down on the important things that I need to know.

The next preparations that I have to make is to get the house on the market and get it sold. There are many people that I know that are trying to the same thing. I am thankful that God has allowed me to have a house that I can call a home for my family. We have been through a great deal in this house, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There are many new and exciting experiences yet to come.

"Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people." (Isaiah 62:10)

Sailor's Creed

I am United States Sailor. I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and I will obey the orders of those appointed over me.

I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and those who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.

I proudly serve my country's Navy combat team with honor, courage, and commitment. I am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all.

Found

I once was lost in the sea of men,
Knowing nothing of my sin.
All I sought was like the desert sand,
With one strong wind it was blown from my hand.

The darkness had covered my eyes,
And I had chosen to believe sin's lies.
For I had chosen to care for myself,
And so I put the Bible back on the shelf.

We all have gone astray,
And have only cared for our own way.
For we were all once lost to sin,
And we did not know the trouble we were in.

My Savior found me when I was lost,
He knew the price and paid the cost.
He the Shepherd sought me out,
And He removed my heart's doubt.

Who Do You Say That I am?

Who do you say that I am?
Do you know that I am the Son of God and risen Lamb?
What have you heard from those that speak of me?
Do you know that I created all you see?

Who do you say that I am?
Do you know that I am the God of Abraham?
What will you do while you are on this earth?
Will you mention me and tell of the Savior's birth?

Who do you say that I am?
Do you know that I am life and sacrificial Lamb?
What will people see when you live for Me?
Will they see how they ought to live and be?

I will say that You are my God and King,
And to none other will my praises sing.
I will let this world know and see,
That You are the only One Who can set them free.

Do Everything

I watched as Steven Curtis Chapman talked about writing his new
song "Do Everything", and he brought forth the importance of doing
everything to the glory of God. I think so many times that we forget
who we live for. If you know Christ as your Savior, then you know
the importance of doing everything no matter what it is for God's glory.

First Corinthians 10:31 speaks of this, "Whether therefore ye eat,
or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

You're picking up toys on the living room floor
for the 15th time today
Matching up socks and sweeping up lost
Cheerios that got away
You put a baby on your hip and color on your lips
and head out the door
And while I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
We'll let me remind you it all matters just as long as you

Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you

Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

OOoh ooooh oooooh

Maybe you're that guy with the suit and tie

Maybe your shirt says your name
You may be hooking up mergers, cooking up burgers
But at the end of the day

Little stuff big stuff in between stuff

God sees it all the same
And while I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
We'll let me remind you it all matters just as long as you do

Everything you do to the glory of the One who made you

Cause He made you
To do every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace with every move that you make
And every little thing that you do

Well maybe you're sitting in math class

Maybe anekatips on a mission in the Congo
Maybe you're working at the office
Singing along with the radio
Maybe you're dining at a five star
Or feeding orphans in Myanmar
Anywhere and everywhere you are
Whatever you do it all matters
So do what you do and don't ever forget
to do

Everything you do to the glory of the One who made you

Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace as you do
Everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace with every move that you make
And every little thing that you do

Ooh oooooh

Every little thing you do

(Do Everything- Steven Curtis Chapman)

Remember what you do because it is what God has allowed you to do.

Are You Paying Attention?

I have heard so many stories of people and families that have lost people very dear to them because they were not paying attention to the signs of things going south. The people that are dearest to us want to feel loved and have our undivided attention. We cannot let worthless things take away the most important things to us. Family is the only thing that we have aside from God, that will love us unconditionally. Don't let things turn your focus away from family. There are many families broken by addiction, unfaithfulness, and simply put, sin. There are many other things that break apart families, but only you know what that is for you. God has blessed you with a family, so why would you want to throw it all away on temporary fulfillment. I have had to be called to attention about my shortcomings, so even I count myself in that number of those that have hurt their families. So many people are not willing to let go of these things, and therefore continue to hurt the ones they love.

Will that computer know your love?
Will it bring you closer to God above?
It may be warm and show you care,
But when all is gone, will it still be there?

Those pictures will not fulfill your desire,
And will only fan the flame of an unhealthy fire.
Remove all that empty, selfish flattery,
And be the man that God has called you to be.

What does it take to get your attention?
Do I have to continue to mention?
Have I turned my eyes away?
And caused these bonds to fray.

It takes courage to do the right thing,
And work toward your families rebinding.
Give it everything you have got,
And care when others do not.

I just want to call to your attention the need to refocus. Please pay attention to the signs, and love those that have chosen to love you. Be courageous, because you have the most important job and that is taking care your family. If you need resources to help turn your life around, please check this link out: The Courageous Movie.

How Do I?

How do I go forth into the unknown?
How do I make His glory shown?
I go with prayers and preparation,
And spread forth His Word across this nation.

How do I stand when all around me are falling?
How do I take on this servant's calling?
I stand in the strength of the Lord,
And though I suffer, great is my reward.

How do I bear this cross I am given?
How do I rejoice in my daily living?
I will bear it till He returns,
Because He is for what my heart yearns.

How do I let men go by?
How do I let men die?
I need to care for them more,
And let them know that my God can restore.

How do I take this message to the lost?
How do I remember what it cost?
I take it boldly to all men,
And let them know that Christ died for their sin.

Love Deeper

Love deeper than the deepest sea,
Love that gave His life for me.
Love that bridges the largest void,
Love that repairs what sin destroyed.

Love far greater than any romance,
Love that gave us all a second chance.
Love that took all the hurt and pain,
Love that will now and forever remain.

Love came from our time in need,
Love that from sin our souls freed.
Love that will stretch the world wide,
Love that will not from anyone hide.

Love that the world by God knows,
Love that in our heart shows.
Love that came to seek and save,
Love that when attacked did behave.

You Love Me Anyway

I have heard this song You Love Me Anyway by the group Sidewalk Prophets, a couple of times today, and really makes you think about what you have done to the One who came to save you in your words and actions. We have all done wrong and have offended a Holy God, and yet He chose to love us anyway. That is what we call unconditional love.

The question was raised
As my conscience fell
A silly, little lie
It didn’t mean much
But it lingers still
In the corners of my mind

Still you call me to walk
On the edge of this world
To spread my dreams and fly
But the future’s so far
My heart is so frail
I think I’d rather stay inside

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me
How You love me

It took more than my strength
To simply be still
To seek but never find
All the reasons we change
The reasons I doubt
And why do loved ones have to die?

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me

I am the thorn in Your crown
But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss
But You love me anyway

See now, I am the man that called out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
Yes then, I turned away with this smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life

But You love me anyway
Oh, God… how you love me

You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me

You love me, You love me
You love me, You love me
How You love me
How You love me
How You love me

So many people look at their lives and think that there is no way that they could turn their lives around and accept God's unconditional love. There are many people that have done horrible things in both man's and God's eyes, but even those people can be saved if they choose to accept the gift of His love. Your life will never be the same after you have accepted Him as your Savior. He went through a great deal of pain to secure our souls and save them from being lost and sent to Hell. Are there things you own that are more important than your soul's eternal state? Think about the importance of this choice, because it is your soul that is at stake.

"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Gifts Unmeasurable

We all thinks that we deserve gifts, but do we really deserve anything. I would equate gifts with blessings, because we are daily blessed. It calls to mind the old hymn, Count Your Blessings. In the hymn it says to, name them one by one. Thanks to a post of a friend, from our front porch looking in, I am following suit by naming the many gifts that I have been given.

1. My Savior
2. My salvation
3. My family (Mom, Dad, and my sisters)
4. My wife
5. My son
6. My daughter
7. My home (house, the roof over my head)
8. My health
9. My job
10. My freedom

These are a few of the many gifts that I have been blessed with. I would like to hear from others about the gifts that you have been blessed with. Leave in the comments.
