The Gifts He Bestows

Yesterday I talked about the gifts that I was thankful for on a personal level, today I want speak of the gifts that God bestows to everyone of His children.

1. His love
2. His life
3. His grace
4. His faithfulness
5. His joy
6. His righteousness
7. His mercy
8. His power
9. His Holy Spirit
10. His wisdom

That is only a few of the gifts that God has blessed us with. God has taken care of everything, can we not render enough praise on a daily basis for His numerous gifts? Remember what your God has done for you.

Sought and Surrendered

I have been seeking God through all of this, and I know that He is faithful to do what He says He will do. I cannot rush the hand of God, but I can follow in His footsteps. He has given me everything that I need to take on the challenges of life. My wife has reminded that God is in control, even when things are uncertain. Through all of this will come clarity. It may be foggy right now, but it will be removed when God sees fit to do so.

I have sought Your guidance day and night,
And through uncertainty follow Your guiding light.
Where I am going I know not,
But to the place that You have sought.

I have surrendered everything I own,
And I have laid it before Your throne.
If not all to You I give,
Then I cannot for You, daily live.

Now I have sought and surrendered,
So through distractions I might not be hindered.
You know the destination and where I must go,
That through all this, Your presence might show.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things be added unto you."(Matthew 6:33) In the verses before this verse, Jesus talks about the needs that we perceive that we have, and if we seek God first and through faith those needs will be met.

Don't Ignore the Calling

"Faithful is He that calleth you, who also will do it."(I Thessalonians 5:24)

The Lord does not call people and leave them to fend for themselves. He leads through His Holy Spirit. Prayer is a part of the calling, because without prayer we do not know where He is leading. The Word of God gives us the Scripture to guide us through some of difficult parts of our calling. "Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."(Hebrews 13:5) I have seen many people ignore their calling, and be miserable because they ignored it. He has given my family a clear calling to another ministry, and I am willing to take up that calling and minister where He would have me minister. Their are things that deter us from our calling, and we need to let those things go.

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us."(Hebrews 12:1)

I ran into someone that had a clear calling to the chaplaincy in the Army, and he encouraged me to go forward and not look back. When I go into basic training, I will be laying aside everything that so easily besets me, and running the race with patience.
