Courageous Men

Courageous men we need to stand,
And we need them stand all across the land.
Come ye men and make a resolution,
We need to become part of the solution.

Our children cannot raise themselves alone,
And we cannot wait til they are grown.
Fathers, Man Up to the task at hand,
Come together and make the stand.

Take courage for your family's life,
Men, take care of your children and your wife.
They cannot do it on their own,
Make it evident by your courage shown.

We Lift Up Praise

We lift up praise to the Lord,
Because in Him, great is our reward.
All His people praise in unison,
For what the Lord has done. (Psalm 100:1)

With gladness I do serve,
And nothing else do I deserve.
Thy presence deserves a song of praise,
Til the end of my days. (Psalm 100:2)

The Lord is God and that we know,
And in our creation He did show.
A people called out by Him,
And as our Shepherd will take care of them. (Psalm 100:3)

As I enter His gates I make a joyful noise,
And my tongue shall continually rejoice.
Thanks be to the One who saved me,
For without Him, I would not be who I should be. (Psalm 100:4)

Our Lord is far greater than words can express,
His mercy endures and it is forever endless.
His truth rings out in ages past,
And for eternity, it will forever last. (Psalm 100:5)

I Will Follow After You

He leads me with nothing left wanting, (Psalm 23:1)
Instead of being a person who sin is haunting.
His rest is amongst the fields of grass so green,
And He guides by the still waters so clean. (Psalm 23:2)

He restores the sin-laden soul,
And His leading is righteous control. (Psalm 23:3)
Though the valley be dark and deadly,
He will guide my path with His rod and make me ready. (Psalm 23:4)

My enemies are astounded by the table set before them,
The cup that You have given me is overflowing the brim. (Psalm 23:5)
Thy goodness and mercy have followed me in my daily journey,
And You will lead on till I reach the heavenly shore to see Thee. (Psalm 23:6)

Lead the Way

Lead the way in my life,
Lead me through the constant strife.
Lead me when it is hard to follow,
Lead me into a new tomorrow.

Lead me through the low places,
Lead me with Your amazing graces.
Lead me when I don't know the way,
Lead me as I talk to You as I pray.

Lead me to do Thy will,
Lead me while I am standing still.
Lead me and with faith I will go,
Lead me and Your strength bestow.

Walking in the Footsteps

I walked alone for a long while,
I walked with a frown, not a smile.
I walked the barren wasteland,
I walked alone and did not understand.

I walked till I found,
A pathway that took me to higher ground.
I am walking in the footsteps of the Savior,
I am walking with a new attitude and new behavior.

I am walking hand in hand with my Savior,
And with salvation has given me favor.
If I had traveled on my own,
Who knows where I could have gone?

So don't walk alone life's road,
And don't carry sin's heavy load.
Walk the road ahead with the Savior,
And know that He can change your behavior.

Still

I stand still here as I wait,
And know that God is never late.
I move when He tells me to move,
And to stay would only my God behoove.

I stand amazed as I stand still,
And I am ready to do God's will.
It is in the stillness, I hear Thy voice,
Because I have made You my choice.

In the stillness, You created the world,
And the stars in the universe were hurled.
Far greater still, when Your Son went up that hill,
And through His sacrifice, my soul did fill.

Shine

A light radiating in a dark, dark world,
And like the sun, its brightness unfurled.
For we were walking a dark, dark road,
And we were carrying a heavy load.

This light is not mine alone,
But radiates from Almighty God's throne.
The warmth of His light fills my heart with joy,
And His Spirit with peace does employ.

Spark the light across the land,
And take the Word of God in your hand.
Radiate the light so bright and clear,
And let them know that He is near.

Bridges of the Past

Burn the bridges of the past,
Build on something that will last.
Those things that you have done,
And by the blood, He remembers none.

Forgive and forget is His command,
Even though it hard for us to understand.
They serve as reminders of where we've been,
And that we were once enslaved to sin.

Move forward to our heavenly home,
And look forward to the day we will nevermore roam.
The darkness behind, the cross before,
And He through salvation did my soul restore.

Let not the bridges of the past hold you back,
Stay on the alert and ready to attack.
For this may come at any time,
So be forgiven, so you don't have to pay for the crime.

Blessings Abounding- Count Your Blessings

Our Pastor's son preached for the Wednesday night service, and he talked about writing down the countless blessings that he had experienced in his life. I don't think that we take the time to count our blessings, because we are so caught up in the problems that we are experiencing. We are such a blessed people. I want to hear from those that follow my blog to talk about the blessings you experience on a daily basis. Here are a few of the blessings that I experience on daily basis:

- Waking up with my wonderful family
- Getting hugs and kisses from my kids
- Looking forward to what God can do
- Seeing prayers answered
- Being able to make a house into a home
- Friends that make life more enjoyable

Let Not Darkness Blind You

Darkness has fallen across the land,
With sin and degredation, and blood upon the hand.
We need a light to cast upon the sin,
And show us that Christ can change the hearts of men.

Darkness is in the hearts of men,
And many have thrown the towel in.
There is a light in the midst of the dark,
On the journey that we must embark.

Darkness has blinded the people to their need,
And has caused many people to die and bleed.
Let not the darkness consume your eyes,
And turn your ears from these sinful lies.

Darkness, I am not given,
Because light has been made my living.
Christ is my light and salvation,
And He is the way to your soul's restoration.

The Next Big Thing

We are looking to find something to fill the void,
When our lives have all but been destroyed.
Heaping more unto ourselves will widen the hole,
And it will consume and take over control.

The trinkets of the world pass our gaze,
And the world sings their praise.
We have taken the money we have earned,
And all because of that our money has burned.

We can fill the coffers of our need,
And still can be paupers indeed.
Consider Solomon and his life,
And all the things did cause him strife.

I know of something far greater than these things,
And all of the blessings of knowing Him brings.
He gave all the treasures of the world away,
And let us know of a better way.

So don't throw your life away,
When what you chose fades to grey.
The love of the Father worth far more,
And He, your life and soul will restore.

Footsteps of Faith

Men of the Word have walked the line,
And know that it was all possible because of the Divine.
We walk by faith and not by sight,
And in His law we do delight.

Christ walked the road ahead,
And He is alive and not dead.
For where we tread, we do not tread alone,
For He is the Cornerstone, not a stumbling stone.

Though dark be the way,
He is my hope and stay.
Guide me through this weary land,
And help me the attacks to withstand.

An Godly Heritage

We have been created by an Holy God,
And all we owe Him praise and laud.
Turning away will not remove Him,
For He created everything in this mortal rim.

We are not left to be alone,
We are created by order from His throne.
To deny where we come from,
Will only spell your doom.

God spoke and the world was set in motion,
And we owe Him our life and our devotion.
He speaks the mountains rise and the valley falls,
And when we cry out, He hears our calls.

We are not created out of chaos,
But because of our choice we alone are lost.
Return to the One who made you,
And know to Whom all the honor and glory is due.

What Can I Do?

Have we come to make ourselves known?
Have we come to be seen or to be shown?
My life is not my own, but Yours to lead,
And I know that You for my life, did bleed.

What can I do that turns their eyes to You?
Do everything and know that You are never through.
The power by which I live is not my own,
But what is ordered from Your Throne.

Live my life and never turn aside,
And when the world comes on strong,
I will not cower, I will not hide,
Because You are the right amongst the wrong.

Life has been given to me,
And through Christ, I have been set free.
For I once was lost in sin,
And through Christ, I have been born again.

Flesh You Must Die

Flesh you must die,
And I must forget the word "I".
Forget the things that please me,
And focus on the things that please Thee.

I have been made to please my Creator,
And I stand before man in life's theater.
I act in love for all I see,
Even though it is difficult for me.

I bid goodbye to my flesh,
And in Christ, my soul refresh.
For if I hold tight to my wants,
When the day is done, it haunts.

If you give what you have away,
You can know Christ today.
Christ spoke to the rich man,
And he said that he would have no part in His plan.

Your life will be more full,
When Christ has been given the rule.
Lay to rest this fleshly container,
He alone can be your Sustainer.

Tablet of the Heart

You have written upon my heart,
The need for a Savior from the start.
Your Words echo within the halls,
And my heart rejoices when Your Words it recalls.

My heart once was hardened,
But You softened when You gardened.
For You created what beats within my chest,
And my need came at Your behest.

Write upon the tablet of my heart,
And through them Your wisdom impart.
Your blood covered all my sin,
And You want this for all men.

-Wade Jinright

Reflecting the Light

The light passes overhead,
Are we alive or are we dead?
Our light still burning bright,
And we offer a Greater Light.

The reflection you should see,
Should be all of Him and none of me.
The eternal flame burns strong,
And our God fills our hearts with a song.

As the moon in the night sky,
We live in Him and that is why,
We know that without Him we die,
So don't live just to get by.

Reflect the Light of God's love,
And remember that Christ came down from above.
For we are but a mirror reflecting,
While people in darkness are rejecting.

He is there

Walking down what seems a lonely road,
He sees that we are carrying a heavy load.
He does not turn away and cower,
He knows His blood's saving power.

We do not have to imagine Him by our side,
He by His Word our paths does guide.
Even when do not have the strength,
He will go with us to any length.

He did not leave us all alone,
But Christ came from His throne.
For God saw the need,
And His only Son on the cross did bleed.

He is waiting there for you,
And if you call upon Him,
He will make all things new,
And from Him all good does stem.

He was there before we were created,
And that we by Satan would be hated.
For the love of God knows no bounds,
But it being unconditional, astounds.

Why Should I Worry?

Why should I worry?
When You know it all.
Why should I hurry?
When You made the call.

Why should I worry?
When You planned my way.
Why should I scurry?
When Your light is as day.

Why should I worry?
When things are tough.
Why should I flurry?
When what You did was enough.

I AM

I AM, Who I say that I am,
This is the truth and not a scam.
I AM, and always will be,
The One who has come to set you free.

I AM, waiting on your call,
Because I am the One who can see you through it all.
I AM, looking forward to your potential,
Because salvation for eternal life is essential.

I AM, the way, the truth, and the life,
And I will see you through this earthly strife.
I AM, the One that will lead the way,
And will take care of you day by day.

I AM, looking forward to My return,
Because I for my bride do yearn.
I AM, going to return at the time appointed,
And you will see the One Anointed.

I AM, your Savior and your King,
And to all believing, new life I bring.
I AM, broken and bruised,
When by the lost accused.

I AM, speaking, will you hear?
Or will you be surprised when I reappear?
I AM, God, will you be ready?
When all around are unsteady.

When Will It Cease

I ask this question, because it is concerning what happens all the time. The subject is sin. We all do it, and sometimes we do it all too often. We even see it on the news. This is a world full of sinners. It will only cease when Christ returns. I want to offer a solution to sin, and that is salvation. It does not completely remove the sin, but Christ died for all our sins. There is forgiveness for sin; you need to decide to ask for forgiveness. There are many things that are wrong about the world that we live in, but we need to decide to change the world we live in. We are not changing the world by being more green, politically-minded, or whatever else you can think of that might change this world outside of Jesus Christ. Go out into the world and preach the Gospel.

What We Celebrate Tomorrow

Tomorrow we celebrate our country's freedom. This celebration should not involve alcohol or anything else that would make us forget why we fight for our freedom. I am tired of hearing what we did yesterday and it involving drinking. It is a time that we remember those who have fought for our freedom and those who are still doing so. How can you do that when you are too drunk to think about anything? Those of us who are going into military service are going to have to practice zero tolerance when it comes to those habits, or we are going to find ourselves outside the base waiting for the bus to take us back home. We do not pride ourselves in drinking, but in being prepared at a moment's notice to serve our country. It does not speak well of those that are serving right now, when we disgrace them with our lack of judgment. I will do my best to set an example for those around me who have in the past have not used discretion. So please honor our troops by truly remembering them while they fight for you.

Approaching the Throne

I come humbly before Thy Throne,
Knowing that through Christ my sin's did atone.
For without Your Son's sacrifice,
Nothing else will suffice.

I approach not in my own power,
But I approach in the needing hour.
For I need to seek Thy face daily,
And I have been away frequently.

My God and King knows my heart,
And He knew it from the very start.
He turned my eyes to His Throne,
And from there His Glory shown.

Lead from Thy Almighty Throne,
And help me to make Thy presence known.
For You are all powerful,
And You will make me useful.

Looking Forward

Life is going full speed ahead. I am looking forward to the weeks ahead. Until it is time to go I will help my wife and kids to make this transition into military life. It is quite a change for me, but it is change that I will take full responsibility for. I have heard the many reasons that people have joined the military, and I think some of the reasons that they join for are fool-hardy. The thing that I look forward to the most is the birth of my son. The trials and testing that I face during boot camp will be difficult, but I welcome all of these in order to prepare for the rest of my military career. I look forward to serving my Navy's combat team with honor, courage, and commitment.

I thank the Lord that He has given me guidance to do what I have to do in order to take care of my family. Guide me, O Thou Great Jehovah.

Preparations

There are a lot of preparations going on right now. If not prepared for something; then anything could happen. I myself am preparing to go into the Navy, and that takes time, study, and physical fitness. I do not want to be one of those people that does nothing and hope that I make it through what I am about to endure. Some of these recruits are still set in their ways, and if they don't change them it will hurt a great deal more. I am thankful for God's timing in all of this, because without it I would be in a holding pattern wondering when I would land. I will do my best to prepare to the best of my ability for what is about to take place. There are a lot of people that look forward to this experience, but not until in the middle of it will they realize its importance. These next two months, I will buckle down on the important things that I need to know.

The next preparations that I have to make is to get the house on the market and get it sold. There are many people that I know that are trying to the same thing. I am thankful that God has allowed me to have a house that I can call a home for my family. We have been through a great deal in this house, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There are many new and exciting experiences yet to come.

"Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people." (Isaiah 62:10)

Sailor's Creed

I am United States Sailor. I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, and I will obey the orders of those appointed over me.

I represent the fighting spirit of the Navy and those who have gone before me to defend freedom and democracy around the world.

I proudly serve my country's Navy combat team with honor, courage, and commitment. I am committed to excellence and the fair treatment of all.

Found

I once was lost in the sea of men,
Knowing nothing of my sin.
All I sought was like the desert sand,
With one strong wind it was blown from my hand.

The darkness had covered my eyes,
And I had chosen to believe sin's lies.
For I had chosen to care for myself,
And so I put the Bible back on the shelf.

We all have gone astray,
And have only cared for our own way.
For we were all once lost to sin,
And we did not know the trouble we were in.

My Savior found me when I was lost,
He knew the price and paid the cost.
He the Shepherd sought me out,
And He removed my heart's doubt.

Who Do You Say That I am?

Who do you say that I am?
Do you know that I am the Son of God and risen Lamb?
What have you heard from those that speak of me?
Do you know that I created all you see?

Who do you say that I am?
Do you know that I am the God of Abraham?
What will you do while you are on this earth?
Will you mention me and tell of the Savior's birth?

Who do you say that I am?
Do you know that I am life and sacrificial Lamb?
What will people see when you live for Me?
Will they see how they ought to live and be?

I will say that You are my God and King,
And to none other will my praises sing.
I will let this world know and see,
That You are the only One Who can set them free.

Do Everything

I watched as Steven Curtis Chapman talked about writing his new
song "Do Everything", and he brought forth the importance of doing
everything to the glory of God. I think so many times that we forget
who we live for. If you know Christ as your Savior, then you know
the importance of doing everything no matter what it is for God's glory.

First Corinthians 10:31 speaks of this, "Whether therefore ye eat,
or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

You're picking up toys on the living room floor
for the 15th time today
Matching up socks and sweeping up lost
Cheerios that got away
You put a baby on your hip and color on your lips
and head out the door
And while I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
We'll let me remind you it all matters just as long as you

Do everything you do to the glory of the One who made you

Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace
With every move that you make
And every little thing you do

OOoh ooooh oooooh

Maybe you're that guy with the suit and tie

Maybe your shirt says your name
You may be hooking up mergers, cooking up burgers
But at the end of the day

Little stuff big stuff in between stuff

God sees it all the same
And while I may not know you I bet I know you
Wonder sometimes does it matter at all
We'll let me remind you it all matters just as long as you do

Everything you do to the glory of the One who made you

Cause He made you
To do every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace with every move that you make
And every little thing that you do

Well maybe you're sitting in math class

Maybe anekatips on a mission in the Congo
Maybe you're working at the office
Singing along with the radio
Maybe you're dining at a five star
Or feeding orphans in Myanmar
Anywhere and everywhere you are
Whatever you do it all matters
So do what you do and don't ever forget
to do

Everything you do to the glory of the One who made you

Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace as you do
Everything you do to the glory of the One who made you
Cause He made you to do
Every little thing that you do to bring a smile to His face
And tell the story of grace with every move that you make
And every little thing that you do

Ooh oooooh

Every little thing you do

(Do Everything- Steven Curtis Chapman)

Remember what you do because it is what God has allowed you to do.

Are You Paying Attention?

I have heard so many stories of people and families that have lost people very dear to them because they were not paying attention to the signs of things going south. The people that are dearest to us want to feel loved and have our undivided attention. We cannot let worthless things take away the most important things to us. Family is the only thing that we have aside from God, that will love us unconditionally. Don't let things turn your focus away from family. There are many families broken by addiction, unfaithfulness, and simply put, sin. There are many other things that break apart families, but only you know what that is for you. God has blessed you with a family, so why would you want to throw it all away on temporary fulfillment. I have had to be called to attention about my shortcomings, so even I count myself in that number of those that have hurt their families. So many people are not willing to let go of these things, and therefore continue to hurt the ones they love.

Will that computer know your love?
Will it bring you closer to God above?
It may be warm and show you care,
But when all is gone, will it still be there?

Those pictures will not fulfill your desire,
And will only fan the flame of an unhealthy fire.
Remove all that empty, selfish flattery,
And be the man that God has called you to be.

What does it take to get your attention?
Do I have to continue to mention?
Have I turned my eyes away?
And caused these bonds to fray.

It takes courage to do the right thing,
And work toward your families rebinding.
Give it everything you have got,
And care when others do not.

I just want to call to your attention the need to refocus. Please pay attention to the signs, and love those that have chosen to love you. Be courageous, because you have the most important job and that is taking care your family. If you need resources to help turn your life around, please check this link out: The Courageous Movie.

How Do I?

How do I go forth into the unknown?
How do I make His glory shown?
I go with prayers and preparation,
And spread forth His Word across this nation.

How do I stand when all around me are falling?
How do I take on this servant's calling?
I stand in the strength of the Lord,
And though I suffer, great is my reward.

How do I bear this cross I am given?
How do I rejoice in my daily living?
I will bear it till He returns,
Because He is for what my heart yearns.

How do I let men go by?
How do I let men die?
I need to care for them more,
And let them know that my God can restore.

How do I take this message to the lost?
How do I remember what it cost?
I take it boldly to all men,
And let them know that Christ died for their sin.

Love Deeper

Love deeper than the deepest sea,
Love that gave His life for me.
Love that bridges the largest void,
Love that repairs what sin destroyed.

Love far greater than any romance,
Love that gave us all a second chance.
Love that took all the hurt and pain,
Love that will now and forever remain.

Love came from our time in need,
Love that from sin our souls freed.
Love that will stretch the world wide,
Love that will not from anyone hide.

Love that the world by God knows,
Love that in our heart shows.
Love that came to seek and save,
Love that when attacked did behave.

You Love Me Anyway

I have heard this song You Love Me Anyway by the group Sidewalk Prophets, a couple of times today, and really makes you think about what you have done to the One who came to save you in your words and actions. We have all done wrong and have offended a Holy God, and yet He chose to love us anyway. That is what we call unconditional love.

The question was raised
As my conscience fell
A silly, little lie
It didn’t mean much
But it lingers still
In the corners of my mind

Still you call me to walk
On the edge of this world
To spread my dreams and fly
But the future’s so far
My heart is so frail
I think I’d rather stay inside

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me
How You love me

It took more than my strength
To simply be still
To seek but never find
All the reasons we change
The reasons I doubt
And why do loved ones have to die?

But You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me

I am the thorn in Your crown
But You love me anyway
I am the sweat from Your brow
But You love me anyway
I am the nail in Your wrist
But You love me anyway
I am Judas’ kiss
But You love me anyway

See now, I am the man that called out from the crowd
For Your blood to be spilled on this earth shaking ground
Yes then, I turned away with this smile on my face
With this sin in my heart tried to bury Your grace
And then alone in the night, I still called out for You
So ashamed of my life, my life, my life

But You love me anyway
Oh, God… how you love me

You love me anyway
It’s like nothing in life that I’ve ever known
You love me anyway
Oh Lord, how You love me

You love me, You love me
You love me, You love me
How You love me
How You love me
How You love me

So many people look at their lives and think that there is no way that they could turn their lives around and accept God's unconditional love. There are many people that have done horrible things in both man's and God's eyes, but even those people can be saved if they choose to accept the gift of His love. Your life will never be the same after you have accepted Him as your Savior. He went through a great deal of pain to secure our souls and save them from being lost and sent to Hell. Are there things you own that are more important than your soul's eternal state? Think about the importance of this choice, because it is your soul that is at stake.

"For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Gifts Unmeasurable

We all thinks that we deserve gifts, but do we really deserve anything. I would equate gifts with blessings, because we are daily blessed. It calls to mind the old hymn, Count Your Blessings. In the hymn it says to, name them one by one. Thanks to a post of a friend, from our front porch looking in, I am following suit by naming the many gifts that I have been given.

1. My Savior
2. My salvation
3. My family (Mom, Dad, and my sisters)
4. My wife
5. My son
6. My daughter
7. My home (house, the roof over my head)
8. My health
9. My job
10. My freedom

These are a few of the many gifts that I have been blessed with. I would like to hear from others about the gifts that you have been blessed with. Leave in the comments.

Forget Fairness

We have all said that something was not fair at one time or another. Our perception of fairness is skewed. Did we consider what happened to Christ was not fair? Fairness did not come to the minds of the people of Jesus' time. They did not understand the message that Christ brought. The message of unconditional love, no matter what happens and no matter where you are at. He reached out to us when we had all but turned our back on Him. Even though much is not said about Heaven, there is a great deal said about what happens to those reject Christ. Your eternal state is important. Don't go on about life thinking that there is nothing at the end of your life. You will not be able to say that it is unfair what God will do to you because chose the temporal over the eternal.

I want you to forget fairness, because it is does not exist in this world. We can only treat people with fairness. You can choose to look past your circumstances and reach out to those that have been treated unfairly. There will be no argument about fairness at the White Throne judgment. It will come down to what you choose do with your life right here and now. "Choose ye this day, whom ye will serve." (Joshua 24:15)

Do Not Forget Those Who Gave Their Lives

I am thankful for those that have gone before us to help retain our freedoms. So many people go about their daily lives not caring about how they are able to go on doing what they are doing. I am proud to be an American, and I cherish every day of freedom that I have in this country. I am also proud to be a Christian, because firstly I have become part of a heavenly nation. There are wars both physical and spiritual that we are constantly fighting. We may never see true peace in this life, but with Christ we have His peace. When I start my military duties, I will remember those that paved the way with their lives and service. Please remember that freedom is not free, and honor the lives of men and women that have served our country and are still serving in our Armed Forces.

As For Me and My House

My house created by Hands of God,
And led by His ever-caring rod.
There are many that seek to destroy,
And their evil ways employ.

My home is not here on this earth,
But in Heaven through rebirth.
I will occupy till You come,
And establish You in my home.

I want to rejoice with many in my heavenly home,
And where my joy has come from.
The love of my heart is full and free,
And daily I want to show what You have done for me.

As for me and my house,*
I will ever love my spouse.
I will lead with my Father's love,
Till I am called to Heaven above.

Serving and submitting to Thy law,
And it has caused my cold heart to thaw.
Others will I serve in love,
And I want to bring many above.

Bring Them Home

We look forward to our eternal home,
To lift our praise and never more roam.
It is not left to us alone,
Because for all Your sacrifice was shown.

Go to all the world and spread His Word,
And utter the message that you have heard.
Life that I speak of is better than what we have here,
And that is why in eternity, I have nothing to fear.

Bring them home to the fold of God,
And tell them about our Shepherd's guiding rod.
It leads and it chastens my lost soul,
But in the hands of God, I leave my life's control.

Continue On

Now that the threat of apocalypse is over; we still have to be about our Father's business. We have been over the passage of Mark 13, but that does not lessen the importance of what our spiritual duty to others is. We are like Noah on the Ark, and we are daily trying to gather souls into the boat, so that we can save lives for eternity. I know that Noah did his best to warn the people of the coming flood. We are doing the same to warn the people of the world. Even though we may be heaped together with the so-called believers; we need to speak the truth in love. I know many of my friends are having to do that on a daily basis. The truth is like a sword that cuts straight to the heart. We need to arm ourselves with the truth, so that evil does not have the victory over us. We need to cut through the darkness and let the light shine so that the lost souls of men may see it. So continue on in the strength of the Lord.

Don't Misinterpret What You Read in the Bible

Their are so many people that have been duped into thinking that tomorrow the world will end, and no matter what formula you use or math you try to do will not help you to figure out when the Lord will return.

"But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." (Mark 13:32-37)

Other passages that speak of Christ's return are Matthew 24:36-51 and Luke 21:34-36. If you think that you have interpreted these passages correctly, please return to these passages and read again.

I hate to disappoint these people that think that the Apocalypse is happening tomorrow, but only God knows when the time is right to send His Son to claim His children. Another thing to think about is that God will not destroy the earth until He has accomplished all that He has relayed to John in the book of Revelation.

Boast in the Lord

Boast not in what you know,
But in Christ, who His love did show.
We may know a great many things,
But to Christ, we give our praise offerings.

Boast not in the strength of your arm,
Because in the end it can only do you harm.
We work to build up ourselves everyday,
And Jesus said that this is not the way.

Boast not in the money you've earned,
Because with this fire you could be burned.
Riches will only bring want,
And once gotten they will continually haunt.

Boast in the omniscient and almighty God,
The One who has constantly guided with His rod.
For knowing our God is better than all of these things,
And knowing Him, my praise to Him brings.

"Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the Lord." (Jeremiah 9:23,24)

Trust the Lord

Trust the Lord, O my soul,
And fill me with Your Spirit anew.
For without Christ, there is nothing I can do,
And teach me the virtues Thou dost extol.

Trust the Lord with all of your heart,
And show me Your power in what You are doing.
For I am nothing, without my faith in You renewing,
And work in me in every part.

Trust the Lord with all I am given,
It takes the removal of certain things.
And when it is done, Your glory it brings,
For what You do, make my life worth living.

Stayed on the Word

Stayed on the Word, I will not fail,
And He has saved my soul from Hell.
For He spoke the Word and many were saved,
But so many are still in darkness and enslaved.

The fields are white and ready for harvest,
And when the opportunity arises, it is best.
For the time you have now will soon be gone,
Looking back and remembering the love you should have shown.

Care for those who are lost,
And in our efforts, we could not exhaust.
The Word and the blood are needed to save,
Remembering all that He gave.

Unmoved

All around us is moving,
And in our hearts behooving,
By our actions we have turned away,
And into the dark have gone astray.

Stand for what you believe,
And spread the salvation that you did receive.
For we are not of this world below,
And we must Christ show.

The waves and winds may be strong,
But He has put in our hearts a new song.
Sing while the waves are churning,
Speak so that hearts may be turning.

What My Saviour Can Do

All I have gained in this life,
At times has caused me strife.
But when I give it to God above,
He tells me the story of His love.

His love so full and free,
Has cause my blinded eyes to see.
What once was lost has now been found,
And angels rejoicing gather round.

For they rejoice for what my Savior can do,
That He, my Savior could endure what they put Him through.
Though beaten, bruised, and crucified,
It was for sinner's soul, He died.

Eternally Secure

Alive in Him, I have an eternal home,
I will not be left to walk this road alone.
Alive for all eternity, I will not go out into the unknown,
Because when I shall see Him, I will be known as I am known.*

I will not go to Hell,
Because in eternity with Him, I will dwell.
Will you be ready when He returns?
Or will be on of those who burns?

I am eternally secure,
And I know for sure,
That He lives within my soul,
And He my life does control.

The Best Decision You Will Ever Make

Love poured out on the cross,
And our Savior knew the cost.
We knew that this was a price that we could not pay,
But our Savior did it long ago on this day.

If our souls were not in need,
Then there would be no need to be freed.
We in our flesh know not the missing part,
But Christ knew the need of the human heart.

Saved by His blood alone,
He can for our sins atone.
My heart is an empty place,
Until Christ fill the empty space.

My Savior is alive and well,
He has the power over death and Hell.
He waits for you and me,
To make the decision to become free.

The Resurrection is Real

People are always trying to find evidence to support the Resurrection, but the fact remains that tomb is empty. If people were so interested in disproving the Resurrection, then you would think that they would have found something by now to disprove it. No matter how much anybody tries to disprove it; the fact remains that in God's Word; it is spoken of in the Gospels: Matthew 28:1-10, Mark 16:1-14, Luke 18:31-34, 24:1-12, and John 20:1-18. Even David has been given the foresight of things long before Christ came to earth in Psalm 16:8-11. For those that deny the Resurrection of Christ, please know that Christ has risen, and that is why we celebrate on this day, not because of some pagan ritual.

You say my Savior is dead,
But when He rose He crushed the serpent's head.
Though sin's burden was a heavy load,
He carried it up Calvary's Road.

You say my Savior did not rise,
And you say that all His words are lies.
My God and Savior reigns on high,
And He for my sins did die.

You say that Heaven and Hell are not real,
That we will not be judged for the way we feel.
My God has given us a choice,
And He has told us to proclaim salvation with a loud voice.

I say that your life is incomplete,
Until my Savior you meet.
For He cares for our soul's need,
And He is Risen, Praise the Lord, indeed.

Alone

You claim you are all alone,
But did you have to leave Heaven's throne?
Did you have to hear crowd's angry cries?
Did you have to be slandered by many lies?

Those that stood with you have now gone away,
And in your time of need did not stay.
They fell asleep while You prayed to Your Father,
And when You asked them to pray, they did not bother.

Judas did help those that conspired against You,
And He was saddened for what he put You through.
When asked of Peter around the fire,
He denied You thrice, and was a liar.

When You were on the cross, sin's burden, You did bear,
When God did turn away, You were alone there.
So don't tell me you are all alone,
And by your sacrifice, sin was gone.

Jesus did take on the sins of the world,
And on the cross, sin's judgement was unfurled.
When it was done,

Our salvation was won.

If you feel like you are all alone,
And you think that all hope is gone,
Come to the throne of grace,
And in Jesus' hands, your life place.

Road to the Cross

We gathered to welcome the coming King,
As we laid down palms leaves and His praises sing.
For He was heralded through ages past,
And those there knew that He would be the King that would last.

Where were you when He passed this way?
Were you too busy to be there that day.
Do you only come to remember this once a year,
And never to come around till the next to reappear.

He cared enough to show the love that this world needs,
To plant the plan of salvation through the Word of God's seeds.
His blood alone can cover your sin,
And make you clean within.

We come again to the road but there is no cause for joy,
And we see a man whose visage we cannot employ.
For we know that He walked this road willingly,
Because He saw that through this sacrifice it would set us free.

He carried that cross to the hill of Calvary,
And there His blood was spilt for you and for me.
He loved us when we did not show love for Him,
And by His love, our salvation did stem.

He Took On Our Burden

I stand before the cross in awe,
And I believe on Him who I saw.
For the blood flowed down from there,
From One who has shared my burden of care.

For my burden is a heavy load,
But He for me His care showed.
I was deep in my sin,
And He took me in.

Forget not His life's sacrifice,
Though Peter denied Him thrice.
Because He is the Lord of my life,
And He is my peace amongst the strife.

Hearts In Need

Hearts in the shape of a throne,
That by His blood can atone.
Hearts cannot be saved,
When by sin enslaved.

Hearts are dark and lonely,
And salvation in Him only.
Hearts are sad and wanting,
And all around things are daunting.

Hearts can be full and free,
When my Jesus they can see.
Hearts that are by Him made,
And for eternal life will trade.

My heart I will give,
So that I might for Him live.
For His love on the cross did show,
And with His message I will go.

Fight of Your Life

The fight began when you were born,
When by sin we were from our Creator torn.
We were bribed by knowledge of the world,
And we from our Father's arms were hurled.

We come into the ring ready to fight,
And we fight for a cause that is right.
You say you know what you are fighting for,
But do you know for sure?

The hits keep coming and I keep fighting,
And some of those hits upon me are lighting.
My fight and yours are not the same,
But the fight can be won in Jesus' name.

Knowing Christ, I say fight on,
And I know that He sits upon the throne.
Though I am bruised and bleeding,
His guidance I am heeding.

Are You Prepared?

Jesus shall come again soon,
Will your soul be in tune?
Or when in glory be denied,
We say we knew Him, we have lied.

The time we have is fading fast,
When you are gone, will your testimony last?
The message we bring is of great importance,
Because we all shall be judged in His presence.

The day of His return approaches,
And the end of time encroaches.
Do I know Him, as my Savior?
Or will you be dismissed for bad behavior?*

Consider His bleeding sacrifice,
Because your good works will not suffice.
For we are not our own,
But by Him, every part known.

* bad behavior- sin and the rejection of salvation

Care for the Smallest Thing

He cared for the smallest thing,
And I can in His presence bring anything.
For the sparrow and lily know Your care,
Even when all alone, You are still there.

Care not I, what tomorrow brings,
But praise Him for all His blessings.
For He owns a bountiful supply,
He will not let our needs go by.

Cast all your burdens on Him,
For out of You, salvation did stem.
For we are born of sinful man,
And we are all in need of salvation's plan.

Joy in Life

The Joy of the Lord is my strength,
And this will be the case for my life's length.
For joy in every situation,
Is my soul's consolation.

My joy cannot be taken,
Even when my faith is shaken.
My joy comes from my salvation,
And this will be so in life's duration.

The things I have are few,
But in the least,
There will be joy in everything I do.
The gratitude I find is not enough,
But thankfulness even when times are rough.

When Paul and Silas were held captive,
Their joy was overflowing and active.
Though they were in shackles bound,
Their joy was in their Savior found.

We Stand

We have been called out from among many. We have been called according to the purpose of the high calling of Jesus Christ. He stood for all those who could not stand themselves, and He even healed those that could not walk. I will stand for what I believe. Will you stand up and be called out?

We stand with a passion unparalleled,
We have a message that needs to be heralded.
We know the cost that were on the cross laid,
We know that Christ, our sin debt paid.

We are determined to spread the word,
We are proclaiming loudly to be heard.
We do this not in our power alone,
We follow in Your Word that You have shown.

We have the courage to do great things,
We are not held back by the world's strings.
We will march on, holding His banner high,
We will fight though we live, though we die.

We live by grace alone,
We live by orders from Thy throne.
We are amazed by Your grace,
We can You to our salvation trace.

You have expressed to me my need,
You have given salvation, I am freed.
You, I trust and You alone,
You will be there and even when I am gone.

I am not trying to end on a morbid note, but I am trying speak of the eternal presence of my Savior. I want people to know that my God does exist and He is presently working in my life. I will stand with my fellow Christians and will uphold His Word.

Give It All

Give it all, like the widow did her mite,
Even when your money is too tight.
He gave it all on the cross,
He did it all that we not suffer loss.

Even when the times are lean,
We give not to be seen.
For the time we have is precious,
And He cares for the righteous.

For the One I know has everything,
And that is the reason why I sing.
Call on Him when you have a need,
Become a believer and He will lead.

-Wade Jinright

Anchored in the Eternal

Take hold to the cross,
And burn away all the dross.
For the refinement I need,
And to Your every word I do heed.

The Solid Rock is sure,
And He will faithfully endure.
For the time I spend here is short,
Help me to uplift and exhort.

What claim do you have on the eternal?
Do you live for Christ or for the external?
For the life we live is not our own,
But we live from orders from Thy throne.

Standing Strong

These are days that we as Christians need to stand strong in our faith, and not be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. There are many people out there who are unsure of what they stand for and who they believe. We have all heard the adage, "if you don't stand for something; you will fall for anything," and that is so true of many people. Christ taught us how to be strong in the midst of a truth barren world. He also taught us how to speak in love the truth.

Stand strong when the war rages,
Because this battle has been going on for ages.
Prepare for the fight of your life,
Because victory is not gained without strife.

Stand strong for all you believe,
And the strength of the Lord you shall receive.
For He has called you to fight the good fight,
For we are not left in darkness, but His glorious light.

Stand strong in the power of the blood,
And you will stand strong in the coming flood.
For when all thing around you crumble,
Lord, in the midst of it, keep me humble.

-Wade Jinright

"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, He it is that doth go with thee; He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."(Deuteronomy 31:6)

"And Joshua said unto them, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the Lord do to all your enemies against whom ye fight."(Joshua 10:25)

"Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord."(Psalms 27:14)

"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whither soever thou goest."(Joshua 1:9)

How Fear Should Be Approached

Fear is something that we all experience, even those that are hard-boiled and tough as steel. Fear is also something that we should have toward God, because if we do not reverence the Creator, how can we honor those that in authority over us? Here in the next few months, I will have to get into the mindset of ranks, and how they play a roll in the military hierarchy. Discipline will be required both at basic training and tech school. The degree of fear that I have is experiencing something new. The Lord has gotten me through many things already in the past few years, and it has taught me much about the three important things to the U.S. Navy and those are honor, courage, and commitment. Honor is a reverent fear. To honor God is to glory in His attributes. It takes courage to step out on faith when God is leading, because we are not naturally courageous enough to do so. Finally, commitment is something that many people lack, because they know nothing of what it is. Commitment is taking on something that has to be done for a certain period of time, but in the case of those of us who are saved it is a lifetime commitment.

"What time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. In God I will praise His Word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."(Psalms 56:3,4)

Fear God and honor His name,
Put off sin and salvation claim.
For God knows the heart and everything in it,
Take this to mind this very minute.
For without God eternity is bleak,
If forgiveness in Him we do not seek.

Fear God and He will give you courage,
To overtake temptations sinful urge.
Courage to take on all Satan's might,
Courage to do what is right.
There is strength in courage,
And when asked of God it will surge.

Fear God and commit your life to Him,
And through you may His love stem.
For the life you have committed,
By Christ your sins have been acquitted.
Commit your life to Him today,
And He will show you the way.

-Wade Jinright

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is my strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"(Psalms 27:1)

"Teach me Thy way, O Lord; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name."(Psalms 86:11)

"Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: He is their help and their shield."(Psalms 115:11)

"Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil."(Proverbs 3:7)

Inward Battle

The war rages on inside of you and me,
The fight for my soul to be free.
The enemy tries to turn our hearts aside,
And he in darkness will hide.

I stand here in my fleshly pride,
I think that I need not in Him confide.
For if I stand here in my pride,
And me without God would have died.

So long to all the flesh can afford,
So that Christ, my Savior can be adored.
If I gain nothing in this life,
But Christ, the peace amongst the strife.

Your Word Continues On...

Though men would try Your Word to burn,
Even when my heart is weak, I will thereafter yearn.
Though men will return to dust,
In God's Word I do put my trust.

Your Word flows in my soul,
And my life is in Your control.
For without Your guiding light,
I would not walk in paths aright.

Though kings would try to silence Your Word,
Through endless ages It will be forever heard.
Lord, speak now through me,
So that You be the only One they see.

My Life's Gain

"But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith."(Philippians 3:7-9)

All I gain, I count as loss,
In the light of my Savior's death on the cross.
Much more to gain, in Him I find,
Than to be in sin, and my eyes blind.

Give me but Christ and Him alone,
For He is the only One for who my sins can atone.
Let me the world forsake,
And the message of Christ to the world take.

Though the world turn their heart,
And I with His message to them impart.
Look not to the worldly wise,
Because in the end they will not rise.

Give me the blood of my Lord crucified,
For He is my Savior, though by some He be denied.
Though I bring few unto Heaven's shore,
I hope only to know You more.

Is It Worth It?

We all try to find worth in something, but are we looking in the wrong direction? I would say that we do look for worth in the wrong places. I want to tell you about the One that knows the soul's worth, Jesus Christ. He sacrificed all that He was worth on the cross, so that sin would not claim the souls of men. There are still men that deny their need for salvation.

Worth is not found in money or fame,
Because all these things bring you shame.
Find worth in Christ, the Savior's name,
Let not Satan and sin your life to claim.

Popularity and beauty are of all things vain,
These are times that put the heart to strain.
Find your eternal worth in the Savior's blood,
Or you will be overtaken by the flood?

When all is cast into the flame,
Will you only be left with a name?
Will you have laid up treasures of great worth?
Or will they be left behind here on earth?

Who Can Save Us?

Seeking salvation, man wants to know his end,
Wanting to know how he, his soul can mend.
What has religion brought to the souls of men?
It has lost lives and filled the lion's den.

Seeking acceptance, and yet alone,
What is it going to take to make You known?
It will take spreading Your message,
And us imprinted with Your vestige.

Seeking peace, not here on this temporal plain,
It will not be found amongst the battle strain,
The peace I found is in Christ and His blood,
Safe in Him through this world's overwhelming flood.

Seeking God, He is not dead,
Sending His Son and for me He bled.
For He sits not with closed ear,
But I know that His intentions are clear.

Finding salvation, and all in truth I find,
Knowing this in my heart and mind.
We will not end, and be blown away like dust,
But our eternal state is secure, if in Him we trust.

The God Breathed Word

Word of God breathed,
Salvation plan conceived,
Sin's burden relieved,
Prodigal son received.

The word of man it is not,
But the Word of God by Him was wrought.
Inspired by You, O, Lord,
It's worth we cannot afford.

For man alone could not this Word pen,
But God through Spirit-filled men.
I love Thy Word and all its parts,
Because through its words changed hearts.

Remembering "Amazing Grace"

I remember going with my dad on his ministry to the nearby nursing home, and his favorite hymn was "Amazing Grace" written by John Newton. Grace is defined as a generosity of spirit: a capacity to tolerate, accommodate, or forgive people. The last part of this definition is the most important part, because Christ through His sacrifice was able to accomplish the forgiveness of sins.

The words I heard my father sing,
The words until this day in my ears ring,
"Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,"*
New life in Him I have found.

"I once was lost, but now am found,"*
Now with Him, I can go to higher ground.
Grace be the guidance to lead me home,
And from You may I never more roam.

Thousand years have past, and still with Your grace I am amazed,
Thousand years have gone, and still You are worthy to be praised.
The praise still continues on my lips and will never cease,
And with Your Amazing Grace, I see a daily increase.

You Are More

We have all been told at one time or another that we will not amount anything, but that is not true because we have been created to serve and honor the Lord. There are people out there that are blinded to the truth of their soul's state. They look at themselves and say that there is no need for God in my life, and they go on about living like He does not exist. Whether we choose to acknowledge or not acknowledge His presence; He is there waiting for us. Don't ever forget that your life is of value to God. He uses the less than perfect people to do what He has called us to do, and that is proclaim Christ and Him crucified. With that in mind, we need to proclaim His salvation. Show that you have worth in Christ.

There's a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she's wandered
And the shame she can't hide

(There are things that we have done that we are not proud of, but even those things are covered by the blood of Christ's sacrifice. All He asks is that we confess our sins, that He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins.)

She says, "How did I get here?

I'm not who I once was.
And I'm crippled by the fear
That I've fallen too far to love"

(No matter how deep we fall, God's arm long enough to reach us and bring us out of the pit that we have caught ourselves in. There are questions that we ask ourselves, but those questions that we have can be answered by God. Look into the Word of God and you will find what He is able to do for the unlovely.)

But don't you know who you are,

What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

Well she tries to believe it

That she's been given new life
But she can't shake the feeling
That it's not true tonight

(We have our doubts about anything new. Once you have received Christ as Savior; you are not forgotten. We are imperfect, but we are loved by a perfect God.)

She knows all the answers
And she's rehearsed all the lines
And so she'll try to do better
But then she's too weak to try

(It only takes what little faith we have to accept salvation. We have been weakened by sin. God gives us the strength to face all the things that we come up against.)

But don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,

You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

(We have been remade from the inside out.)

'Cause this is not about what you've done,

But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to
(I cannot say it enough, but I will say it again God orchestrated everything and He will finish what He started. When things seems broken; there is One who can put things back together.)

This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

You are more than the choices that you've made,

You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You've been remade.

You've been remade

You've been remade.
You've been remade.
You've been remade.

God has made you a child of His. He has made you new.

Three Important Things

The values of honor, courage, and commitment that are in the Navy; these values are also important in our daily Christian life. We have to honor God first, and through that example we need to honor those around us with conversation that is pleasing to God. There are so many times that we would rather edify ourselves than others, and in so doing when we dishonor God and man. Courage is a quality of spirit that enables you to face danger or pain without showing fear.( wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn )
Courage is something that we lack, especially in this day and age. If we don't have courage; we are not able to stand against those things like drugs and alcohol that seek to destroy us. I think that too many people seek temporary pleasure in drugs and alcohol. We have things that we want to accomplish, but we fall short because we want satisfaction and we want it now. Commitment is something that we make to ensure that we do what we have committed to do. When we accepted Christ as our Savior; we made a commitment to Him and all that He has called us to do.

Why Are We So Confused?

For some reason people confuse themselves by the simple things, and therefore think that they are lost. Life may seem to be a maze sometimes, but ultimately it is a maze created by us and not God. God is not the author of confusion, and He does not do anything that would cause confusion. It is when we start looking elsewhere for answer instead of the Word of God; that we create chaos in otherwise peaceful world. The true peace is found in Christ. It is not found in being in a zen state. All emptying your mind will do is just leave you feeling empty.

Another thing that causes confusion is anger. Anger can build up to dangerous levels, and it can so enrage us that it clouds our judgment. I know from experience that when I get angry that I can't think straight and I say things that can be hurtful.

"He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated."(Proverbs 14:17) We act as fools when we are angry.

"A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger."(Proverbs 15:1) When you are provoked, do not retaliate with hurtful words. I want you to step away from the situation, and think about how to deal with the situation in a manner that will ease the tension between the two parties involved.

"A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife."(Proverbs 15:18) I think that this verse echoes the same meaning as verse one of the same chapter.

"A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both. Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?"(Proverbs 27:3,4) Anger is very outrageous, and the more it is fueled, the more hurt that it causes.

Jesus' Legacy

I went and saw Tron: Legacy tonight, and it is amazing the truths that are made evident in a secular movie. The creator of this digital world wanted to make a perfect world, and bring that to the real world. It took seeing his son to see that he had all he needed and did not need a perfect world to live in. Jesus wanted to create a perfect world, but we made the choice to bring sin into His perfect world.

He has a living legacy. He lived and died for us, and He did so because He saw the state that we were in apart from Him. Many consider a legacy as something that is left behind, but I want to put forth the importance of a living legacy. Live for Christ and let people know that Christ came to seek and save that which was lost.

You left behind a legacy,
What will I do for you?
Will I stand in complacency?
Will I show others what is true?

Living a life for You I will,
Sharing the truth, it is my goal.
Salvation has come, in this I thrill,
To be safe in the Shepherd's foal.

I care about the souls of others,
By sin, these were my brothers.
I have been born again,
I want to bring this to the souls of men.

This is a life that was given to me by God, and I will live for the honor and glory of Him, because He has saved me from sin and an eternal separation from God.

Inception by Deception

I just watched the movie Inception, and it put forth an interesting concept of sneaking into someone's mind while they are asleep and then planting a thought and therefore affecting that person's thoughts by doing so. I think that many people have been put to sleep by Satan, and then he plants the thought that there is no God and there is no need for one. Satan has many ways to destroy people and their lives, but the one thing that he uses the most is deception. He used it in the Garden of Eden, and that is how our lives became full of sin. We chose to believe the lies of Satan, and therefore were condemned by the choice we made. We want to uncover the deception of Satan to the lost, so that they are not sent into eternal punishment.

Death to Self

Can you give up all the things that please you? Or are you too stubborn to let it all go? It is difficult because we are constantly bombarded by it on a daily basis. So many before us have loosed the hold the flesh had on them, and therefore gained eternal life in doing so.

Dead to self, this flesh will be slain,
If I lose my life then I shall gain,
Eternal life in Him alone,
As I cast everything before His throne.

We are but a vessel to be filled,
And when we are attacked He is our shield.
He overtook the flesh and made the call,
He took on Himself the sins of us all.

Will you let Him in to dwell?
Or will deny Him and go to Hell?
The question is simple and bold,
The answer is in the truth He holds.

Die to self, and shed the flesh,
Gain new life in Him afresh.
And without Him we suffer eternal pain,
For in Him we have our life to gain.

Let Christ take control of you and make all things new. The fight against the flesh is ongoing and it will be until Christ comes again.

His Best

I had an job interview today, and I gave it my all. The Lord will honor those that give it their all. It is a learning experience, because there are times that we do less than our best and we see the outcome before we even start. So give your all and the Lord will do the rest.

I have given my best, and that is all I can do,
And look to the Lord to see me through.
My best is all I have, and that is what I will do,
For nothing less is what we do for You.

Your best is what you gave for us,
And all that You ask is that we trust.
Your best came to us long ago,
And this through Your teachings we know.

We strive so hard and it does not seem enough,
But You knew that the road ahead would be tough.
Going on before us, You knew what was ahead,
You knew the burden that we would have to shed.

Seeking His best, you find that your needs are met,
Knowing that His best we have not seen yet.
Waiting for Him in every moment of every day,
Knowing that He will keep us in the right way.

Sought and Surrendered

I have been seeking God through all of this, and I know that He is faithful to do what He says He will do. I cannot rush the hand of God, but I can follow in His footsteps. He has given me everything that I need to take on the challenges of life. My wife has reminded that God is in control, even when things are uncertain. Through all of this will come clarity. It may be foggy right now, but it will be removed when God sees fit to do so.

I have sought Your guidance day and night,
And through uncertainty follow Your guiding light.
Where I am going I know not,
But to the place that You have sought.

I have surrendered everything I own,
And I have laid it before Your throne.
If not all to You I give,
Then I cannot for You, daily live.

Now I have sought and surrendered,
So through distractions I might not be hindered.
You know the destination and where I must go,
That through all this, Your presence might show.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things be added unto you."(Matthew 6:33) In the verses before this verse, Jesus talks about the needs that we perceive that we have, and if we seek God first and through faith those needs will be met.

Looking Back

Everyone looks back at what happened in the past year, and ponders many different things. Did I use the time that I was given? I know that people wish that they had more time, but unfortunately we have what we have; no more, no less. "Redeeming the time, because the days are evil."(Ephesians 5:16) What could I have done differently? Life is based on many different choices, and if we make the wrong choices then we might look back in regret. How could I have served others? I think that we get caught up in our own problems, and we don't take the time to be a blessing. I can recount many times throughout the year that others have been a blessing to me, and I don't think that life would be worth living without the kindness of others. Do others have to do what they do for us? No, but Jesus did what He had to do in order to save us. "For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."(Luke 19:10) We all have questions about what happened in 2010, but do we have all the answers? We may not have all the answers, but I know the One that does, and He has given His Word.

Last year is gone,
And here we are again,
What will happen,
When we come to the end?

We must choose by the Word,
And this we do through the Lord.

The year is new,
And what will you do?

Will you make it count?
Or will you be overwhelmed by the mount?
The tools are in our hands,
Will it take us to foreign lands?

Come into the year with hearts open wide,
Cast away all your cares and pride,
Take the hand of God and hold on tight,
He has given us strength and might,
Be covered by the blood and cleansed within,
So that Christ might be seen of men.

I want to look back and rejoice in all the ways that God has blessed me, but I want to share that same joy with others, so that when they look back on a year they can rejoice also. "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."(Hebrews 12:2)
