What Will You Do?

Will you stand by and not speak up?
Will you let those that are corrupt,
Let their wickedness in this world errupt,
But not let our message be shut up.

Pray for the land, that they will come back to Your hand,
That we will proclaim Christ as we stand.
For the rulers of this earth cannot find peace,
Until You return, the fighting and wars will not cease.

Pray for the home, where our life is the center,
May Your presence and Spirit enter.
For where You make Your place,
We experience Your love and Your grace.

Listen Closely

Listen closely and you will hear,
Angelic voices of joy and cheer.
On a night long ago, in Bethelhem,
We heard the great news of Him.

Listen closely and you will hear,
A message of joy and not of fear.
For He was born to save us then,
When we were deep in sin.

Listen closely and you will hear,
And you will enjoy what you hold dear.
For in the quiet of that night,
We were given a Great Light.

Listen closely and you will hear,
A message of love and cheer.
For love came in this child,
And lo, in this manger mild.

Those Were The Days

We all recall a time that we wouldn't mind going back to, but unfortunately we have to move forward and not look back. I remember a time that I didn't have a care to worry about, but I would not change where I am at now. I have a wonderful family both near and far, and I am blessed everyday by all the things around me. There are some things that I cannot change in life, but I am content with what I have.  "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content." (I Timothy 6:8)

The days we left behind,
May we not be blind.
May we look ahead,
May we live as He did.

Don't look back,
Don't loose track.
For the day is new,
What will you do?

The days are bright,
Keep the cross in your sight.
When things grow dim,
Know that it is Him.

Let Your Words Be Wise

Think about the words you say,
Think about them everyday.
The words should heal,
The words should fulfill.

If our words are not wise,
Then it is to our own demise.
Speak the Words of God in love,
Let the Light of God shine down from above.

We speak sometimes with no thought,
Thinking that we will not get caught.
Thoughtless words wither the spirit,
And does not edify those that hear it.

Words of life have been given to me,
Words that can set your soul free.
Christ spoke these words long ago,
And He through us, wants the world to know.

Unconditional: Love Unhindered

Love that goes farther than anything known,
No matter what goes on.
You think you have fallen far from grace,
His love is great, so lift up your face.

Love walked up Calvary's hill,
Love, for Christ's blood did spill.
He saw our need for a greater love,
So God did send His Son from above.

Love dwelt among the least of these,
Love healed us from our disease.
Sin is what left us in the dirt,
And if continued in, will eternally hurt.

Love did see the pain that we feel,
And salvation for all is God's will.
Though many will turn away,
His love is new every day.

Love, I know, will not leave me alone,
Love came down from His throne.
For Love that did love the world,
And on the cross, His arms were unfurled.

Wisdom

Consider the things You do,
It not only affects me, but you.
For in life you must always choose,
What you must keep, what must you loose.

I call out to you, today,
I want you to think and pray.
I want you to see the place you are in,
I want you to know, that you are in sin.

I continue to plead,
For I want you to heed.
The choices we make will hurt,
When we with sin do flirt.

Jesus calls us to remind,
It is only in Him, salvation I find.
Wisdom reminds us to heed,
To think through this life we lead.

Brand New

The morning is new,
Today, what for Him will you do?
The breath that you have been given,
Is not for dying, but for living.

Rested and continually blessed,
Why should I worry?, why should I be stressed?
For all is of God, and blessed is the man,
That follows what God has planned.

Reborn, remade, and justified,
For our sins, You were crucified.
We cannot make all things new,
By Your blood, this what You do.

Remember September

Remember they had no choice,
Remember they still have a voice.
Remember the crumbling towers,
Remember the disbelief for hours.

Remember this solemn time,
Remember this hateful crime.
Remember their glory was not for long,
Remember that we still stood strong.

Remember those that were saved,
Remember the ones that braved.
Remember the dust clearing,
Remember our country cheering.

Remember the darkest night,
Remember those who fight.
Remember that horrific day,
Remember that we need to pray.

Remember those that protect the waters,
Remember those that protect the skies,
Remember our Army brothers,
Remember the Marines and others.

Remember those that put out the fires,
Remember those that had desires.
Remember September not long ago,
Remember that our bravery and courage will always show.

I Have Called You

I have called you to go,
I have given you the power to know.
I will not leave you to yourself,
I will always to give you help.

I will be your light,
And I will give you sight.
I will prepare you to fight,
I will get you through the night.

I took on Myself your sin,
If you know Me, it will never be remembered again.
I have called out on the waves,
And if you fall, I AM, the One who saves.

Love Untold

Love is seldom found,
Yet it is needed the world round.
Loving, whether or not deserved,
On the cross, Christ's love was conferred.

Love the weary and the lost,
Guide them to Jesus and His cross.
If we don't love them, who will,
God is the only one, the hole can fill.

Speak the words of love often,
So that the hearts of man will soften.
For love is of God and He knows,
His sacrifice, does our sin expose.

Our love does not compare,
Because of the blood that He spilled there.
Take hold of the love He shared,
And at the Judgment we shall be spared.

Weight of the World

You had the weight of the world on Your back,
You gave all and nothing did You lack.
This weight we could not bear alone,
But You did and by Your blood atone.

When we feel like it is all too much,
We can ask for the Savior's touch.
He told us that He is there to share,
These burdens that we so often bear.

The weight of the cross was on Your back,
You knew that we would fall, and get off track.
You gave Your life, no questions asked,
To speak of You, is what we are tasked.

Your strength far greater than Atlas,
Changing our flesh, so into eternity we can pass.
You have given us a cross to bear,
When we are overwhelmed, You do care.

Different

Different from the rest,
Called out to do what is best.
For those that are lost,
You have a price on your heads of high cost.

Different from when we were born,
Even though we may endure scorn.
We need to show what we have found,
Because this simple thing does astound.

He was different from the rest,
And by His presence we are blessed.
He wants to make us new,
And He will see us through.

Let us show the difference to the world,
And the Christian flag, be our banner unfurled.
The Word of God the message proclaimed,
That we in His presence are not ashamed.

Shattered

Shattered, broken, and bruised,
Taken for granted and abused.
We cannot fall apart now,
With what we have been endowed.

He was shattered, broken, and bruised,
Christ was guilty in our eyes and accused.
He took our sin and our shame,
Instead of us, He took the blame.

He can take the pieces of our hearts,
He can put together those broken parts.
So gather the pieces and lay them down,
He knows how the pieces can rebound.

Brokenness is not for long,
Because Christ alone can make us strong.
The pieces can only glorify,
When in the hands of God they lie.

Standing Tall

Many have fought to keep us free,
They have seen things that we shall never see.
What would you do without this sacred thing?
It is something more than to which we cling.

They fight so that we may not fall,
When the enemies seek to enthrall.
The enemy seeks to take what we hold dear,
By destruction and fear.

We stand tall, because they stand in our stead,
We will not by the enemy be misled.
We will stand the day and the night,
And our enemies will not us, a fright.

Our God helps us to stand, when others fall,
Though Satan should attack, we will stand tall.
We want all to stand with us in the fight,
We will illuminate the darkest night.

Trading Temporal For Eternal

Temporal things pass and fade,
But I have chosen a far better trade.
Eternal things will be there when all is gone,
And all that is unknown will be known.

When I let go of all that is dust,
In my heart, my God will I trust.
My eternal state far greater,
Saved from the eternal devastator.

I will show you what He gave to me,
I will show you how He set me free.
I am covered by the blood of my Savior,
I have a new attitude and a new behavior.

Leave all the temporal things behind,
And in Christ, true joy and peace you will find.
When all has passed through the flame,
Will you only be left with your name?

Bring people to the One, Who can save,
So they will not be to sin a slave.
People are dying and lost,
Will you save them at any cost?

Healing

Healing is more than just physical,
It is not magical or mystical.
It is the unseen hand of God,
It causes a man to walk again on this sod.

Though deep be the pain and hurt,
He, the healer can wash away the dirt.
He healed the sick, crippled, and poor,
But in healing, they were given more.

Lord, heal the sick and the hurt,
And wash away the sinner's dirt.
Lord, use this pain for Your glory,
So through this, they can hear Your story.

Ever Present

Through the storms and tempestuous seas,
Even when I do as I please,
You continue to watch over me,
You want me as You called me to be.

You are present in the depths and heights,
You are present in the days and in the nights.
You have been there at the beginning of time,
You will be there when we hear the clocks last chime.

You were present with Your people in the desert,
You are still here even though times are different.
You were present in the time of battle,
Your sacrifice did more than the sacrifice of cattle.

You are present when I feel alone,
You hear me when I groan.
You fill that empty place in my soul,
Your life in me gives me the best control.

Wonderfully Made

I am created by the hand of God,
Out of the dirty soil and earthly sod.
Have you considered what has been done?
Knowing that He created everyone.

Wondrous are the works of God,
Hands lifted, all glory and laud.
Knowing me, before I was a thought,
That I was so intricately wrought.

Recreation, far greater than the first time,
To know that I have new life and Heaven sublime.
I am baptized in the Spirit and the Word,
I want to proclaim, to those who have not heard.

Reflection

You are far brighter than the sun,
Knowing that You are the only One.
You give the light to lead the way,
You guide me day by day.

You are the bringer of  this great light,
And You can bring the blind to sight.
Without Your light, we are in darkness,
And Your brightness is matchless.

We reflect the glory to the world abroad,
And we do so until Christ removes us from this sod.
We reflect what God has done through His Son,
And none can come close to what He has done.

The brighter, our lamps remain,
The more souls for Christ, we can regain.
For we are a city on hill,
Ours is the great commission to fulfill.

For Him

I run this race not for gold,
And for proclaiming my Savior, bold.
He gives me strength to run the race,
And all I want to do is seek His face.

Anything I have when the race is finished,
In Your presence is diminished.
Cast the crowns and all rewards,
Do not store things this world affords.

God, You deserve all the praise,
And I commit myself to You all my days.
You are my Guide and King,
You are my all, my everything.

Finish well, for the sake of the cross,
And before Him, my rewards I will toss.
Stand strong, stand tall,
For my God is over all.

Restore

My thoughts are continually on you,
That Christ would make you new.
You have not fallen to far to reach,
But for your soul, He does beseech.

I want you to return to my Shepherd's fold,
So that for eternity He can your soul hold.
The path that you continually follow,
Will leave you lonely and hollow.

My rejoicing will come when you return,
But I will weep if you decide to burn.
Jesus wants to live inside of you,
He wants to make all things new.

He offers His hand into the deep,
And He never does sleep.
Reach out to the One that can save you now,
All you have to do is bow.

Changed

Changed from the inside out,
I know my Savior without a doubt.
For if I am not changed within,
Then how will other souls I win.

Changed, and with God's speed
I transform all my ways and deeds,
Show the love for which Christ bled
Supply the needs you see in His stead.

Changed for all to see,
Showing them that we are truly free.
He saved us, this I know,
And He said for us to go.

Changed not by something mystical,
But to know grace and faith are critical,
Then saved and brand new,
What will we do?

Changed by God's own Son,
I am saved and it is done.
Justified, and my life rearranged
By His life, my life, He changed.

Finding Him

Finding myself in deep thought,
Never thinking, that my Savior sought,
That He would with His blood, my soul bought,
That He would catch me, and I, in His arms be caught.

Finding myself in deep despair,
Thinking that nobody would care,
When Christ said that every burden, He would share,
Even the midst of the times, when life is not fair.

Finding myself drowning deep in sin,
Knowing not the condition I was in,
For He showed that I could be changed within,
That I could be a fisher of men.

Finding myself in the deepest need,
That from sin's grip, my soul could be freed,
He within my heart planted a seed,
And He for my soul does plead.

Finding myself coming to the end,
Knowing that God would my soul to Heaven send,
In my passing, shall they know Jesus, my friend,
That on His cross, my sins were pinned.

Why Does God Allow Suffering?

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness, Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." (2 Corinthians 12:9) We ask why does God allow suffering, but do we know the answer to the question? I think that Paul very well understood what it meant to go through suffering of many kinds, but he was glad to do so for the sake of the cross. We have something to look forward to at the end of this life, at the end of all the immediate suffering.

The key here is "for my strength is made perfect in weakness." God's strength is perfect, and all of our strength is but weakness. It helps us to see what God is capable in whatever situation we are going through. God has a plan in every situation.

Why do we hurt, why so much pain?
For this is the time to see what we gain.
Without the hurt, without the pain,
Then what do we gain?

For some people they know not why,
Why they hurt, and why they cry?
For God is over all,
And He is here when we call.

Take your pain to Christ, Who took your hurt,
He washed with His blood, the sinful dirt.
When you cannot bear the pain,
And you are feeling like you are drowning in the rain.

Take your burden to the Lord,
That He can pay for what we cannot afford.
He calls us to come like little sheep,
So that in eternity, He, can my soul keep.

What Is This World Coming To?

It is not a question of "What is this world coming to?", but the fact that it is the world has been in sin since the beginning of Creation. We have had so many horrible things happen in the past few decades that I can attest to, and even things before I was born. Some people only make things worse when they dishonor those that have either been through a tragedy or that have fought for our freedom. Sin is the root cause of all this, and there is nothing else that we can call it. People need to open their eyes to see what is going on, and not looking the other way.
Jesus came to the world to seek and to save. He is sad that we have chosen to go our own way and even for those that have chosen to cause these grievous tragedies. Jesus knows all the things that we have gone through, so there is nothing that is new to Him. We are not alone in this world, because Jesus loves us and He wants us to know His love and new life.

The world is lost in hate and war,
And wondering what they are here for.
Sin has blinded them to their need,
Forgetting the need because of their greed.

People are dying and lying in despair,
Who is there for me and who does care?
People crying because of the shame,
When themselves are all to blame.

What am I doing for the lost and hurt?
Am I walking the other way and their lives desert?
I should gather them and let them know,
That my Savior, is the way of life to go.

Bullets blazing past and many falling down in the fire,
I know that I have salvation and my utterance does require.
Reach out to the world wide,
And let not your Light hide.

Please remember those that have fallen in Aurora, Colorado, as well as those that have fallen in the ongoing fight for freedom at home and abroad. Please pray that people will come to know Christ amongst all these horrible things.

Second To None

He is second to none,
He is the Almighty One.
He is first and He is last,
God of the future and God of the past.

He is first in my life,
Amongst the pain and the strife.
He has my heart and my soul,
His voice my heart doth console.

When He returns, my crown He will receive,
All because on Him I did believe.
All is His and He is mine,
And He deserves all glory divine.

Second to none,
He is the King, when all is said and done.
Are you first or last?
Where in eternity is your lot cast?

I am last and Christ is first,
And those roles cannot be reversed.
Remember your place,
And remember His amazing grace.

My Heart's Cry

The tears fall heavy on my heart,
To know that something is hurting on the inner part.
The hurts, the pains of the present and the past,
The Lord tells me that only a little while will last.

The tears and the prayers are held close to Your heart,
And You know like a doctor where to start.
I know that the tears fall like a heavy rain,
But I will help you, your strength regain.

The testing and trials that I have been through,
Are nothing compared to what You had to do.
You cried and groaned in the garden,
That this cup would be pardoned.

Tears of blood and of sweat,
These tears You do not regret.
You know my heart and You know my pain,
And You know what I have lost and You know what I can gain.

I cry having nothing worthy of Your pardon,
But You knew what my tears were regarding.
I cry with a groan, so helpless and deep,
But I know that my heart You will keep.

Cry out today, and He will give you a hand,
And He will pull you out of the miry clay and sinking sand.
The burdens you bear, you do not have to alone,
But through salvation, His blood can atone.

Where He Walked

He came to walk among men of earth,
He came through the virgin birth.
He walked with His earthly mom and dad,
He stayed behind and they were sad.

He was about His Father's business,
And nothing could change this.
He walked among men and called them out,
And grew within them a faith without a doubt.

He walked and fed the thousands,
And they were filled with no need for seconds.
His filling was far greater than the food,
And He knew that this was for their good.

He walked upon the ocean and the waves,
And Peter thought he could make it, but Jesus saves.
He walked and dined among sinners and thieves,
And He, in His heart for their souls grieves.

He walked and did turn the water into wine,
This was only one of His miracles divine.
He walked and talked with the woman at the well,
And did her sin and wickedness dispel.

He walked to the garden to pray,
And He hoped that His disciples would awake stay.
He walked and fell to His knees in grief so great,
He asked if God could change His fate.

He walked to the upper room and did with the disciples eat,
After they had drank the cup and break the bread, He did wash their feet.
He knew that among them there was one that would Him betray,
And that it would take place in the garden later that day.

He knew that He must walk this road alone,
Even when Peter said of Him, he had not known.
He would walk before the Romans, and they would take no blame,
For Pilate would wash his hands of this Man, of which there was no sin and shame.

He was chosen both among the Jews and Gentiles to be crucified,
And He would soon walk that hill and there with Him two men died.
He was welcomed Great King of the Jews,
But soon out of their mouths, Crucify Him, they would spew.

He walked up that hill, battered and bruised,
But He knew that He could by God in this way be used.
He would hang there and take our sin,
So that they would not be remembered against us again.

He would walk amongst them again,
After three days, He would again be risen.
He walked with men on the road to Emmaus,
Once they saw the bread that He broke, in their hearts were amazed by this.

He came to see the one that doubted that He had risen,
And he was able touch the nail scars and the wounds in His side that He had been given.
He walked amongst the disciples one last time,
And reassured them of their salvation sublime.

His presence walks among His people,
And it cannot be confined to a church with a steeple.
He will not let you walk alone,
But He will guide you by His light shown.

Fed and Fulfilled

So you hunger for something more,
Amidst the poverty and war.
I know of someone more filling than food,
He is a Savior, loving and good.

He fed the many long ago,
But He still does it today, I know.
For on many occasions, He did great and mighty things,
And for our salvation, endured trials and sufferings.

His power far greater than our own,
Is throughout Creation known.
To say that you see not these things,
Only to yourself judgment brings.

Feed upon the Word of God divine,
And know fulfillment in Him sublime.
I know my Savior and all He has to give,
And I am thankful to in His presence daily live.

Small

I, a speck, a spark, so small,
Did not think He would see my fall.
I feel so insignificant on this earth,
But He knew me at birth.

He used things both great and small,
Even though we were altered by the fall.
David took down the giant with one small stone,
Zaccheus in a crowd was by Jesus known.

So whether great or small,
God can indeed use them all.
Don't let the vast world scare,
For even the small, He does care.

Freedom I Know

Free to know that my Savior is good,
Free because He shed His blood.
We could not be free alone,
Without Christ's blood for our sins atone.

We fight for peace and freedom here,
But is it man that we fear?
Do not gamble with the life you have been given,
Because without Christ are we really living?

We have no peace until Christ does return,
And we in our hearts for this do yearn.
Freedom is known in salvation,
Not in earthly frustration.

I know my Savior, do you?
Where will you end up when all is through?
Know where you stand when it all ends,
And where your soul it's eternity spends.

Flashes of Light

We have been given a light to shine,
This Light is not mine, but Thine.
We are living in a world of dark,
And we have a journey on which to embark.

What we reflect is of great importance,
Be a guiding Light in this world of ignorance.
We are spotlight on Your stage,
And You are the words on our page.

If we shine our own light,
We direct in a direction that is not right.
Yours is the light of our life's path,
Because You saved, we have escaped Your wrath.

Let the flashes of light that they see,
Guide them to Your gift that is free.
For we should not this Light hide,
Because You are our Shepherd and Guide.

Who Are We?

Are we out to help people in need or are we out to help our selves? We are so often looking out for number one, and we are so blinded in the process of taking care of ourselves. We need to take time to notice the unnoticeable. They are in as much need of care as we are. The needy, the hungry, and altogether lost need to be given a helping hand up. Even those of ill repute need our help. We like the religious elite in Jesus' day tend to take up stones to cast at the sinner. We are once in a sinful state like the lost, but at a point in time we have accepted the gift of salvation that Jesus offered to us. I am not saying that we are made sinless, but we are covered the blood of the sinless One. He has forgiven our sins. We can show others the way to salvation. They are in just as much need of Savior as we are. Don't ignore anyone, because we are all going to be in eternity either in Heaven or in Hell.

Who are we to determine if someone lives or dies? Who will be lost or who will be saved? God determines these things. He has given us a choice for our eternity. Do you want to spend it with Him or do you want to end up in Hell with Satan? I have made the choice to accept His gift of salvation so I know where my eternity will be spent.

Drop the stones you hold in your hands,
Spread the Word across the lands.
They need a hand from out of the mire,
And pulled out Hell's eternal fire.

The grace by which we are saved,
Kept us from being eternally enslaved.
Our life is not our own,
We will by Him be known.

Give the lost a helping hand,
And show them that they can stand.
We once in their place,
But now we know His saving grace.

Who Is at the Forefront? (Cont'd)

We will continue to talk about who is at the forefront of your life.

I had a dream that I was captain of my soul.
(If we think that we are in control, we are sadly mistaken. I know
that we want to have control of things in our life, but no matter
how hard we try, God controls everything.)
I was master of my fate, lost control, and then I sank.
(When we keep hold of the reins of our life, we steer ourselves
in the wrong direction.)
So I don't want to take the lead Cause I'm prone to make mistakes.
(A perfect God needs to have the leadership in our lives because
we are a sinful people and prone to make mistakes.)
All these folks that follow me gon' end up in the wrong place.
(We need to follow after God, because He knows the only way
to get to Heaven and that is through Jesus Christ, His Son.)
So, just let me shadow You, and just let me trace Your lines.
Matter of fact just take my pen. Here, You create my rhymes.
(He has given us the words to speak, and we are responsible to
speak words of edification. We need to speak His words to
guide people to Him.)
Cause if I do this by myself I'm scared that I'll succeed.
And no longer trust in You, cause I only trust in me.
And see, that's how you end up headed to destruction.
Paving a road to nowhere. Pour your life out for nothing.
You pulled my card, I'm bluffing You know what's in my hand.
Me, I just roll to trust You, You cause the dice to land.
(Anything we have done is known by God. It is all under God's
control.)

I'm in control of nothing. Follow You at any cost.
Some call it sovereign will, all I know is You the boss.
And man I'm so at ease. I'm so content.
I play the background like it's an instrument.
http://www.metrolyrics.com/background-lyrics-lecrae.html#ixzz1xaw9mNCW
Let yourself be used of God, even though it may be the background part. He deserves to be at the forefront of your life.

A Father's Legacy

It is what we do and what we have done before our children that directs them how to live. It is a godly example that leads our family in the right direction. If we are not leading according to the Word of God; then we are leading our families down a road of destruction and disarray. I have seen the importance of a godly example and how we all need to make a commitment to our family and their well-being.
Make a legacy worth following. I want to follow in the footsteps of my Heavenly Father, and set an example worthy of Him. My children are gifts and they mean so much to me, and if I don't set a godly example in front of them then I am failing them and only hurting them. I want to bring them up "in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

A father is given a place to lead,
He is given a purpose and a need.
A purpose to live and to love,
And a need to ask for strength from above.

We cannot take this role lightly,
For we must grasp His Word tightly.
For His Word holds the key to eternal life,
So pass it on to your children and your wife.

I am a son of my Heavenly Father,
I will bring them in His love together.
My sons and daughter listen well,
And hear of Him and you, He will not fail.

Who Is At the Forefront?

I have heard this song by Lecrae, "Background", and it reminds me that I need to step out of the spotlight and let Christ be the main event. I have been given a gift and I need to share it. I am not the one that saves people, but I can direct them to the One that died for my salvation. Are you the one in the spotlight, or is Christ speaking through you to others?
Lets us take a look at verse one of Lecrae's song, 'Background'.

It's evident You run the show, so let me back down.
You take the leading role, and I'll play the background.
(A life given to Christ has changed the roles on the stage.)

I know I miss my cues, know I forget my lines I'm sticking to Your script,
And I'm reading all Your signs.
(We are not perfect, and so we do make mistakes. God gave us His Word to live by,
and that is the only way to live.)
I don't need my name in lights.
I don't need a starring role.
(The world has the wrong idea of popularity.)
And why gain the whole wide world, if I'm just gon' loose my soul.
And my ways ain't purified, I'll live according to Your Word.
(Nothing compares to knowing that you have God's Word and His salvation.)
I can't endure this life without Your wisdom being heard.
So word to every dancer for a pop star,
Cause we all play the background, but mine's a Rock Star. Yeah.
(He deserves every word of praise, and He leads me everyday.)
So if you need me I'll be stage right.
Prayin' the whole world will start embracing stage fright.
(Christ, You are the Leader of my life.)
So let me fall back and stop giving my suggestions
Cause when I follow my obsessions I end up confessing.
That I'm not that impressive, matter of fact I'm who I are.
A trail of star dust leading to the Superstar.
(It makes you feel miniscule when you think about it. I am thankful
that God considered me to be used of Him.)

In the next of couple of days I will talk about the other verses of this song and what they mean to me.

Remember

Yesterday I saw a comic from a newspaper, that aptly describes most people on Memorial Day forgetting why we have celebrate this day. We celebrate it because of those that have stood against the enemy and have retained our freedom. We take for granted so often the freedoms we do have. I am thankful for the freedom to worship God. So much to be thankful for in the way of freedom.

I am glad that I am part of the military, and I am able to serve my country. If you have the opportunity to serve your country, do so.

Who stands for us when all seems lost,
Who gives their lives at any cost.
Our battles are not won because of might,
But by our willingness to fight.

Our will is not broken,
But affirmed in our pledge spoken.
Back them up with your support,
When the enemy begins their tort.

You may have someone that has served,
And because of them you have better than you deserved.
So remember this day,
And those that with their lives did pay.

What We Have Been Called To Do

We have all been called to do something as believers. "And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:" (Ephesians 4:11,12) God called many people throughout the Old and New Testament to do certain things, and many we would not consider qualified to the jobs that they were called to do. In ministry, it calls us to do things in service to our Lord, but these things that we do are not of our own power. We are there to minister to people and their needs. We are not discounting the needs that we have ourselves, but we know everyone has certain needs. We have been equipped to meet certain needs. God calls us to use what He has equipped us with to minister.
The one thing that people are getting out of sorts over is where people are getting better equipped to serve the people that they have committed to shepherd. The most important thing that people need to be concerned about is that they are living by the Word of God, and preaching and teaching in Jesus' name. When you make a fuss about something as insignificant as where somebody got their education in preparation for ministry; you have lost sight of what God has called the pastor to do. I understand taking care of church discipline when it is needed, but in a situation like this it is wrong. When re-establishing (how you minister to the congregation) a church that has stood the test of time, you must maintain the biblical principles it was founded upon. If that person has maintained those principles; he has done his job. So many people have gotten their education in various places, and yet you don't see them getting questioned about the jobs they do based on their education. I have come from a family that for the most part received our education from Bob Jones University, and I am not questioned about what I was educated upon. Does that make me any less equipped to minister? Others speak of where they got their education, do you question them?

Called am I to go and do,
And with His Word, I will follow through.
Speak the truth in love,
And know that God sees from above.

Speak and with His Word do edify,
And do not let a soul pass you by.
For all is precious in His sight,
And with His Word we prepare to fight.

We have all been given things to do,
And we have all been shown the way through.
Do not argue about where you have been taught,
But know Christ's Death, salvation wrought.

Many Masters

"Choose ye this day whom you will serve..." There are so many people and things to be connected to in this world, but we need to choose who will be our master. In the New Testament, Jesus says that we cannot serve God and mammon. Mammon is the things of the flesh, that only bring glory to the things of the flesh. God is the one of great holiness, and He cannot have part in the things of mammon, because then He would not be God. That same principle applies to Jesus. Had He given into temptation the many times that it was placed before Him; then we would be lost and in our sins forever. Hell would be more populated, if either God or Jesus took part in sin. Jesus passed through the temptation, and when it was time was able to sacrifice Himself for us, and keep us from an eternal Hell.

The Master of my destiny,
Is not me.
He took on Him all my sin,
And now I am clean within.

He gave me His Word,
And I was saved when I heard.
Follow me and ye shall find,
The salvation for all mankind.

Spread the Word for there is a need,
And those who will hear will be saved indeed.
So open your heart and you shall find,
A Master, Good and Kind.

What Is Your End?

You think you know your end,
Where your eternity you will spend.
Don't bet your life on the unknown,
Let me tell you what is set in stone.

My end has been secured by God,
He sent His Son to walk on this sod.
He came as a small child,
He is sinless and undefiled.

He spoke to the wise of the day,
But when He spoke they had nothing to say.
His words did confound,
And His power does astound.

He fed the many and they were filled,
He knew that someday His blood would be spilled.
His life made my life worth living,
And that is why my life I am giving.

Do not leave your soul alone,
Let Christ's blood for it atone.
Do you want to die and burn,
Or do you want to live and learn?

Speaking of the Resurrection

We need to speak of what happened on that day,
Because there is so much that we can say.
He took the time to take care for our deepest need,
And He did for our sins did bleed.

He is not dead, but living in Heaven on high,
And we are looking forward to second coming drawing nigh.
He died on one day and then on third day did rise,
And to many this caught them by surprise.

For resurrection completes our salvation,
And redeems from our sin and separation.
So we do to identify and are baptized,
So men can see that our life has been revised.

Speak of the most important thing,
And recall His life when we sing.
Living on, He does for us intercede,
And through His death, we are from sin freed.

Speak

I have not been able to utter the words,
But You have given me the voice of many herds.
Let not my lips utter words of pain,
And let in my heart, Your Spirit reign.

You allowed me to speak Your Word,
So that Your message could be heard.
Words of life and nothing of death,
But by Your power, I have life's breath.

Like Moses, Jeremiah, and Paul,
You have used them all.
I speak because I know His Word,
And I will speak so the world will have heard.

Father

I have been blessed to be a father,
A blessing like no other.
I take this trust and hold it to my heart,
And have asked for Your guidance from the start.

You are the example I look to,
Knowing that I should follow and do.
Fathers lead the home, and I pray,
That You will help me lead from day to day.

So many fathers have left their post,
And it has been when they are needed most.
Father, hold this father to this sacred trust,
And help me to not be drawn away by lust.

Corpsman's Prayer

Lord, I have been given care of the wounded and sick,
Give me the strength to take care of them safely and quick.
Lord, guide my hand in whatever I do,
May I by the wisdom I have gained, bring them safely through.

Lord, may I uphold the pledge I have made,
And smartly use the tools of my trade.
Lord, You have led to this field,
So that I in Your presence, my spirit yield.

Lord, many have gone before me on this road,
May I not this trust erode.
Lord, I have committed myself this country to serve,
May I give all that I have, and all that they deserve.

-HN Jinright, USN
This is a prayer for all the hospital corpsman on the field, and those in training right now. Please take this job seriously, because somebody's life depends on it.

I Live

I am not laying in the grave,
I came to seek and to save.
So that men would not be to sin a slave,
For all I had I gave.

Many thought that I had gone,
But when three days past,
I returned to take my place upon the throne,
By my blood sin became the outcast.

Take this life I give,
And know that you will eternally live.
For rise to take up the cross,
And go forth to show the need to the lost.

-Wade Jinright

Cast Off

Cast off the veil of flesh,
And walk in new life afresh.
We need to leave it behind,
And have within ourselves a new mind.

Jesus taught us to live,
And we must His message give.
For if we do not cast off the flesh,
Then we cannot live new life afresh.

The world cannot save your soul,
Because they seek to control.
Do not seek that of corruption,
Because it's end is eternal destruction.

My God Is Alive

God is alive and so is His Son. The questions I would think that come to mind here are: Is God dying, or Is my faith dying? God's Son did die and He himself did rise three days after. We have been misled by Satan, and he continues to mislead people down the path of destruction and despair. It has come in the guise of religion, fundamentalism, and even Christianity. Religion has claimed have the answers to the spiritual questions that come to mind, but it has become a cause for more confusion. There are a myriad of religions out there, and all of them claim that they have the only way to God. I hate to burst the bubbles of all these people, but the only way to God is through His Son, Jesus Christ. I have said fundamentalism, because there is so much confusion about what is right and wrong in Christianity. Confusion is one of Satan's greatest tactics to turn people away from God. Christianity is how we classify what we believe. The term, Christianity, has turned people away, because it has been considered a religion. I am in the process of reading C. S. Lewis' Mere Christianity, and finding out how he is defining Christianity in the simplest terms. I think that we do need to make what we believe simple, because if we don't we will send many more people to Hell.
